Her parent’s marriage was a complete disaster from the very beginning and it is nothing short of a miracle that Charlotte entered the world. She was born in January of 1797 at Carlton House. At first her mother was given access to see her but by the time she was nine, her mother’s behavior was so reckless, she was not allowed to be with Charlotte.
