    I write blogs about Amboise.
    Do you know – I expect you do – that a very early BBC Dr Who programme mentions The Abbot of Amboise in connection with the St. Bartholomew Day Massacre of the Huguenots in Paris?
    Do you know anything about him?
    When are you coming to visit? We have not one, not two but THREE chateaux within walking distance of our 200 year old house we are doing up.

    • Hi Pamela, You are very lucky to live so close to such history! I hope to come to France again as soon as conditions allow. The Chateau of Amboise is definitely on my wish list to visit. I’m afraid the Abbot of Amboise is a manifestation of historical fiction. There never was such a person although the character may have been based on several other people in history. Susan
